Bio

Born in Bombay and raised in Germany, he graduated in 1999 in Communication Design in Mannheim, Germany, and in 2001 in Stuttgart, he obtained the European Media Master of Arts for Interactive Design from the University of Portsmouth. While studying in Stuttgart, he collaborates with the Californian media artist George Legrady. Later, he worked as a freelancer, first in Stuttgart, where he participated in the foundation of a creative platform for design, and then in Milan, for the interactive design sector. He approaches video design from the very start by developing multimedia and interactive projects for companies such as Daimler Chrysler Bank and Bosch.

Since 2004, he has been collaborating with Studio Festi in Varese, Italy, as a video designer. He creates video sets for over thirty events and shows in Italy and abroad. Including: the Opening Ceremony of the 13th FINA Swimming World Championships in Rome 2009 where he creates the video scenography also for choreographers Wayne McGregor and Ismael Ivo (National Academy of Dance), the inauguration of the new airline Lufthansa Italia in Milan, the launch ceremony of the new Mercedes Smart and the presentation of the book on Michelangelo “La dotta mano” by publisher Arté FMR in Bologna (Italy), the celebration of the 850th anniversary of the founding of the city of Munich (Germany), the AQVA show organized by the Ipazia Foundation in Laikipia (Kenya), the show “The Red Sails” on the occasion of the White Nights in St. Petersburg (Russia) and the opening ceremony of the Year Italy In China 2006 in Beijing (China).

Since 2007, he has also been involved in the animation of the Christmas illuminations on the facade of the Galeries Lafayette in Paris (France).

In October 2009, together with Roberto Rebaudengo, a Genoese set designer, he created the video scenography for the Tannhäuser by Richard Wagner at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma (Rome Opera House) under the direction of Filippo Crivelli.

Since 2004, he has also worked both as a director and as a director of photography and editor for documentary films to create iconographic material to be used for his video scenography.

His video creations have contributed to the winnings of various prizes and awards as the Red Dot Award, BEA Italia and EuBea (1st and 2nd prizes).

Since 2009, he has been collaborating with the artist Fabrizio Plessi on the creation of many of the artist’s video installations.

For Fabrizio Plessi, in 2012 he created the video scenography for the Threepenny-opera by Bertolt Brecht, directed by Luca De Fusco, and in 2017 the video scenography for the opera Fenix DNA by the artist himself at the Teatro La Fenice.

In 2013, he began various collaborations with Nikos Lagousakos, a Greek creative and show director and choreographer, and his company, NL The Creative Space (Athens, Greece), which allowed him to continue to grow his experience within the world of opera and contemporary dance. In 2013, he created the video scenography for the opera Maria di Venosa by Francesco d’Avalos at the Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca (Italy), and in 2014, again for the Valle d’Itria opera festival, he created the video set design for the concert celebrating its 40th edition (artistic director Alberto Triola).

In the latest years, he has created videos and animations for events such as plays, modern dance performances, video art installations and large scale events, collaborating with a variety of international clients, artists and agencies. His work has been exhibited in shows and art exhibitions around the world, in cities such as Paris, Beijing, Bilbao, Dubai, Istanbul, Macao, Moscow, Monaco, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Rio de Janeiro, Rome, St. Petersburg and Toronto.

As artistic director, he created the video contents for the video set design of three Olympic ceremonies: the Opening Ceremony of the 2018 Asian Para Games in Jakarta (Indonesia) and the Closing Ceremony of the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima (Peru). In 2022, he was the associate artistic director of show video content for the opening ceremony of the first Saudi Arabian Olympic Games in Riyadh.
